Language and settings

The Settings button opens the window where you change the program language and adjust how DTC Remover behaves (Figure 1). Settings are remembered between sessions.

Language

Choose the program language from the selector at the top; the interface updates to the selected language.

Processing options

• Default selection is ‘Remove’ — start each job with Remove selected instead of Disable (see Removing fault codes).
• Enable smart code input — makes entering OBD/MAN codes easier and more forgiving.
• Enable ECU identification — lets the program try to identify the ECU automatically from the file.
• Disable BDM check — skips the BDM validation (useful with certain full-read files).
• Skip file size check — does not validate the file size before processing.

Output and file options

• Append codes to the filename — adds the applied codes to the saved file name, using the separator text you set in the field beside it.
• Show the results dialog — shows the Results window after each DTC OFF (the same toggle as Show this dialog again on that window).
• Use legacy Win32 API file dialogs — uses the classic Windows open/save dialogs instead of the modern ones.
• Show the file dialogs maximized — opens the open/save dialogs maximized.

Note — The defaults suit most users. Change a setting only if you understand its effect; the options above can be turned back on or off at any time.
