Script Editor (advanced)

The Script Editor is designed to help you prepare complex, automated tasks by programming in languages such as Basic, C++ and Pascal. It adds functions to the language that integrate with the specific features of DTC Remover. It is a power-user tool; the everyday workflow does not need it.

Toolbar

From left to right, the highlighted toolbar buttons (Figure 1) are:

• a — start a new working session;
• b — open an existing file from the computer;
• c — save the current file to the computer;
• d — compile and run the program;
• e — compile and run the program in debugging mode;
• f — stop the program currently running.

Function reference

Selecting GENERIC shows the list of classes, functions, types and variables available for programming (Figure 2).

Selecting DTC Functions shows the functions available for integrating with fault-code removal (Figure 3).

The items for the selected category are listed in the window below, where you can browse them while you write your script (Figure 4).

Information area

The information area shows the program's error messages and the status of compilation and execution (Figure 5).

Note — The Script Editor is a power-user feature. The everyday task of removing fault codes does not require any scripting.
